Connor is in the process of buckling his belt when he hears Lacy's voice float down the hall. He freezes and his stomach sinks down to the floor. She... knew. Or knows. Maybe she knew before and is sure now. Either way, he's dead.
He finishes cleaning up the room (and changing the sheets), drawing out the process as long as he possibly can. He doesn't want to go back out there. There is absolutely no way he can lie to Miss Winchester, not when she clearly knows what they were doing. And while far from regretting being with Aubrey, he feels immensely guilty about abusing the position and freedom she's given him here in the Infirmary.
Unfortunately for him, he can't hide in this room forever, and he finally makes his way back into the main hospital.
His sense of dread continues to grow as he approaches the room where they'd spent the morning brewing potions. Feeling his cheeks burn as he steps in, he quietly sits down at his former stool, trying to make himself as small as possible. While trying to find a way out of this, he's completely forgotten the fact that the wisps of hair at his temples are still stuck to the skin and his left shoe is still untied. He just doesn't want Lacy to throw him out of the Infirmary with instructions to never come back.

Lacy sits at the table. She looks just as bored as before, although she looks like she may be slightly annoyed before Connor enters. When he does arrive, though, Lacy seems cheered up. She looks him over.
"Tie your shoe before you fall and crack your head open." Lacy says with a laugh.
She watches as Connor obliges. She's not sure she's ever seen anyone act so awkward. Lacy just stares for a while before deciding that she should probably do something to keep Connor from having some kind of stress induced stroke.
"This may be your job, Connor, but when you graduate it's also going to resemble your life. You'll live here. If next year Aubrey showed up one evening I would expect that you two would disappear into your living quarters for a few hours. The only difference is that right now you only have time between classes and your other duties and no room of your own here yet."
Lacy looks at Connor for a few moments, watching him digest the information.
"Honestly, Connor, half the reason I need you around isn't for the extra hands for healing. I'm going to go insane if I don't get some time to myself. I can barely leave the Infirmary for tea with Giles without worrying what might happen." She pauses.
"I love my job, but I used to do a lot more recreationally. I would never expect you to give up time with Aubrey to do this job. I know that it's been stressful now, but it will be better once you're out of school. In the mean time, as long as it doesn't interfere with getting your work done, I don't care what else you do."

Connor nods at the appropriate times when Lacy speaks, but he mostly keeps his eyes on his lap. He dares chance a look at her once she's done, and the fact that she isn't glaring at him makes him a lot more relaxed.
It takes him a moment to process everything. He was prepared to apology profusely and tell her that it would never happen again, but he doesn't want to lie to her. Especially not in light of everything she just said.
Next year, when he's on Hogwart's payroll rather than a student, he will have his own rooms in which to do whatever he pleases. He's still a little embarrassed that they had sex where people stay when they're sick, but he doesn't want to throw Lacy's acceptance back in her face. She understands, and he'll try to make sure he's always respectful of that from now on.
"I-- thank you," he says, finally looking up at her. She is a medical professional and clearly understands better than most that sex is a part of life--something he's still trying to fully grasp without placing conditionals on it, such as 'when two people are in love' or even just 'in a relationship.' Maybe he can learn more from Lacy than just Healing.

Lacy smiles soothingly at Connor. She doesn't want him to be stressed around her and in the Infirmary. She expects that he'll be awkward for a few days, but he'll get over it. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Lacy looks at the materials out in front of them. They have already made enough potions to stuff the cupboards full, and Lacy expects that if they sit silently Connor will wallow.
Lacy lets out a long breath. "I think we've made plenty of potions."
"I guess, it occurs to me now, that I've only assumed you'll want to live here. I assume for your first year, while Aubrey is finishing here, you'll want to live here. After that you are perfectly free to live anywhere you please. It's not actually necessary for staff to live in the castle, people just tend to. Of course, that leads to other interesting issues....But that it something else entirely..."

Connor furrows his brow at that. He hasn't given it much thought, either. He assumed he'd be living at Hogwarts. That way he won't have to try and find an apartment in Hogsmeade. He'll be around Aubrey and Nora. Plus, healing is a twenty-four hour job, he could be called in at any time. Staying close seems like a good idea.
And he can only imagine what actually goes on behind Hogwarts' closed doors. He's not sure he wants to, really.
"I guess I had assumed that, too," he says. He's trying to have a normal conversation without being awkward. He manages it somewhat, but it's not eas. "At least at first. Maybe once Aubrey's graduated things will change. If we settle down, start a family, you know?"
He stops, creasing his brow in review of his sentence. He planned to tell her that he agreed, that living at Hogwarts would be fine, nothing else. He's never really considered what will happen once Aubrey graduates until just now. He plans to stay with her as long as she'll have him, but... did he really just tell Lacy he'd like to start a family with her?

Lacy smiles and nods understandingly, although she can see Connor begin to reconsider what he'd said. Lacy imagines Connor to be a family man, but Aubrey doesn't seem ready for that. They'll also have to consider the chances of having a blind child. But, they have time to think about that.
"I have a few rooms I can clear out for you. Actually, I'm fairly sure if I just designate them as yours the magic elves show up and the rooms will be fully furnished in the morning..." Lacy trails off, considering the various magic contained within the castle.
During their conversation it has been clear that Lacy seems preoccupied. She had been thinking before Aubrey showed up, that just made her think some more, and now she's thinking again. At least now Connor and Lacy are having a relaxed conversation, more along the lines of gossip or socializing. She knows that keeping Connor around just to talk goes against her previous statement of not wanting to keep him away from Aubrey, but it does serve a purpose. The two of them are going to work together and practically live together, they need to be on a social level.
