Personality: Dorian is essentially your very typical laid back guy, sometimes bordering on lazy. There is also some apathy in there. Dorian prefers to remain neutral on politics and anything of that sort, especially any office-type politics or other cattiness that arises between staff members.

For the most part Dorian is very level. He is calm and has a very slow temper. This can frustrate Dahlia sometimes, because included in his level disposition in a habit of not showing an obvious amount of affection. He doesn’t really have the proclivity for romancing.

His personality suits his profession well, though. He remains calm with the frantic first years that are learning to fly and the frantic seventh years that are afraid of facing the real world. Dorian manages not to come off as too serious which helps his students talk to him, especially since the lot of them are timid. Dorian’s playful side really only comes out with Dahlia and he’s quite sure to straighten up and act all manly if anyone else shows up.

Secrets: Before he began dating Dahlia Dorian may have had a few less than innocent run-ins with a few of the comelier female students. Purely hearsay, of course.

History: Dorian sat with the sorting hat for quite some time as it pondered which house to put him in. He was a very mature first year and very keen on success, but also very laid back. The sorting hat would be the first to openly point out to him that his last name was an anagram of Voldemort. To Slytherin it was.

This got Dorian thinking, about his mother and about the father he never had. His mother was a single mother, and she never mentioned who his father was, she just made her way through the day with a melancholy only broken by the sight of her son. Dorian always wanted to ask his mother, but he didn't know how. She died in the middle of his seventh year, before he ever asked her. All he knew for sure was that he was a pureblood, his mother had always told him that much. He never entertained any thoughts of being the son of the Dark Lord, though, that would be ridiculous. He easily dismissed the thoughts with the death of his mother.

With the more-than-expected inheritance from his mother Dorian was able to live on his own for the next year and a half until he graduated and filled the position for Flying Professor. Not long into his stay at Hogwarts as a faculty member Dorian was offered the position of Head of Hufflepuff House. For some reason it seemed to be a slightly difficult rank to fill. Dorian accepted, not having anything against Hufflepuffs—unlike some of his classmates.

Now he watches as the war between the Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix grows larger and more noticeable. He chooses to remain neutral and has no intention of changing that while he is at Hogwarts. Dorian believes that members of the war have no place bringing their dangers to the school with them and putting the students on the front lines. Because of these opinions Dorian tends to take special care to avoid any sort of political conversation. He doesn’t want people to assume anything due to his blood status, but he also doesn’t want to endorse either side (technically they are both vigilantes and therefore criminals).

Appearance: Dorian is a tall and lean man. He stands about 6’3 with a decent muscle tone. He manages to keep in shape refereeing the quidditch games and just trying to keep up with Dahlia. He has green eyes and brown hair.

Most often you can find Dorian fairly unshaven. Not a beard by any means, but a definite five o’clock shadow. At times it makes him look a bit scruffy so he is sure to shave before any staff meetings or quidditch games.

As much as he can Dorian tries to wear casual clothes. He gets away with not having to dress as formally as the other teachers since he has to help students fly. Considering he only has to teach first years, though, Dorian barely worries about it at all. Most of his time is spent in comfortable clothes sitting behind his office desk.
